i miss having a garage

yesterday i finally brought tristan to get a bath because he wasnt silver anymore. he was more like a dingy white (because of the sand) with a hint of brown & some bird poop. ultimately it was the bird poop that drove me to bring him to get washed. i didnt even go anywhere today & if i had a garage for him to sleep in, he wouldnt have gotten rained on. oh well what can i do. i didnt wash him all week cause it was supposed to rain & didnt. of course when i do get him washed it does rain even though it said it wouldnt! ugh... annoyed. anyway, i finally have a picture of the cool stamp that peter butter jelly made me :D shes so creative! i cant believe she made it by hand, since im not a careful person, i know i would have messed up. thanks so much :D

its april fools day?

i got back from hawaii in sunday & i have to say it was a bittersweet end to my spring break. aside from that i actually like my schedule this quarter. i have an early start everyday but after my two weeks of sloth, i realized that ben franklin was right when he said "early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy & wise." for some reason ive always remembered that particular saying he created & i think its true. i think ive created an exercise & eating routine. its only day 2 but i did more than i thought i could. i jumped rope continuously for 5 minutes & jogged for 10 without stopping today. i honestly thought i could only last for 3 minutes tops. i have tons of pictures that ill be posting soon, including a handmade stamp from peterbutterjelly (thanks so much! i love it, i just need to get paint & ink). i guess i better get studying before im behind again.

i didnt even realize it was april fools day until now. that must be a sign that im getting old haha

hello, hello. so today i realized something while i was making lunch. i know who my two biggest fans are that never complain about my cooking. there they are. right there. benny & toby are always in the kitchen when im in the kitchen. they always enthusiastically consume whatever i give them & always appreciate getting to taste what im making & the final product. now thats love.

rallies & review

so im sitting here in the library again procrastinating on work. im listening to the speaker in the arbor talk about the budget crisis & the hate crimes that have been happening & i have to say shes making some good points. i would have been here earlier except that i had class. theres actually quite a few people in the arbor & i wonder how many people are going to march downtown. its crazy for me to think about all the different rallies & marches ive seen throughout my time here at ucsb & i have to say that this is one of the biggest & people look like theyre paying attention.

oh attention, something i need more of. i feel like i cant concentrate sometimes, especially when it comes to writing for school. oh well ill get over it :D so im 2 pages short for my research paper & i have one last music paper before i have to study/think about finals. i have one final which i am taking early & a take home final which christine (thanks a bunch!) is turning in for me. so in total i only have to write 12 pages & study. not so bad right? next quarter i feel like im gonna be buried under a mountain of papers because of my 2 history classes, 1 english class & 1 art history class. hopefully it goes well.

one of my papers is about sarah chang & andrew von oeyen. i attended their concert on friday & i have to say it was fantastic! not only was the music great but they have to be the most attractive duo ive seen. they performed some romantic pieces (2 brahms) but i will say my favorite was the last piece was my favorite. sonata for violin and piano by cesar franck, dude this piece was intense! i think it really showed off both of their skills. this was definitely a duo i wouldnt mind seeing again.

i guess i should start working now. i cant wait for the weekend!

the room that i teach in has tons of snoopy stuff cause the regular teacher is in love with snoopy. i just thought this was cute

so instead of finishing my paper (which i have approx 10 pages left out of 25 to do) i decided to blog instead :D

so last night i watched coco before chanel or in french coco avant chanel. i really love audrey tautou & 2 of my all time favorites are amelie & he loves me, he loves me not. all these movies are in french & i watched them in subtitles. everytime i watch one of her movies, im inspired to learn. i think that will my elective for next year :D the movie was alright. it was a little slow but there were some funny parts & not to mention the wonderful outfits!

i watched transformers 2 today & i have to say, im a little disappointed. it wasnt as good as the first, but hey sequels usually arent that great. i wasnt all too happy that it took 1 1/2 hours to get to the plot of the movie. i mean i get that its michael bay & that actions his thing but i thought it was a little too much.

ah, i cant wait for spring break.

so i made these about a week & a half before i took these so they prolly look dry, but believe me they were really moist still. i made these brownies from a recipe i got from all recipes & it was really fun to make. im gonna try this again but this time ill add more chocolate chips or some caramel :D

while everyone else in here is furiously studying away for the last of their midterms/preparing for finals im here waiting for photoshop to finish installing. i could be working on my paper, but hey i just took a midterm this morning, i deserve a break right?

after christine showed me how to download and upload a template for my blog (thanks christine!) i couldnt wait to start playing with it. there was one problem. i wanted to make a header but then i realized that i didnt have something to make it with. so i decided to finally install the photoshop lamar gave me 3 months ago.

plus i need a better way to edit photos, iphoto just wasnt cuttin it. so hopefully, ill have a header up and then ill have no excuse to procrastinate on my paper more than i already have been. i dont think professors should be allowed to assign a paper more than 12 pages, just saying. i think id rather do two 12 pagers than one 25 pager. ugh, i know its just 10 more pages but im kinda running out of things to say. not to mention i prolly killed a little forest with all the drafts & revisions ive had to print out.

rain rain rain

today was such a busy day! i went to the bank, went to office hours, class, tsp, barc, showed someone the apartment, taught class, got gas, went home, made dinner, booked my flight & now im here. im glad i finished my music paper early cause now i have to study for my disease midterm tomorrow at 8. gross right?

i feel like theres a little (actually big) saboteur around & i dont approve.

oh, school, why must you have many components.

but on the brightside, i had a really good hair day despite the weather :D
